Tan Wen is a distinguished Chinese lyric soprano, currently a faculty member at the School of Arts, Liupanshui Normal University in Guizhou. She is also a member of the Liupanshui Musicians Association, the Chinese Ethnic Vocal Music Society, and a formal member of the Singapore Asia Art Association (Music). With her exceptional artistic achievements and profound musical expertise, Tan Wen has emerged as a rising star in the Chinese vocal music community, garnering widespread attention and acclaim.
Academic and Educational Contributions
Tan Wen graduated with honors from Guizhou University, majoring in music performance, and was directly admitted to pursue a master’s degree under the mentorship of renowned vocal educator Professor Zhang Guihua. During her studies, she focused on the exploration of Chinese ethnic music, particularly the artistic characteristics of Bouyei folk songs. She has published several academic papers, including “The Artistic Characteristics of Bouyei Folk Songs in Guizhou”, “Reflections on the Reform of Vocal Curriculum Teaching in Normal Universities Based on the Concept of Human-Centered Philosophy”, and “Research on the Nationalization of Contemporary Popular Music Composition”. These works demonstrate her dual expertise in both music theory and practice.
As an outstanding music educator, Tan Wen is known for her inspiring teaching style and dedication to cultivating the next generation of musical talent. She has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the National Inspirational Scholarship and awards for excellence as a student and a youth league leader, laying a solid foundation for her teaching career.

She won second place in the Guizhou division of the 8th International Vocal Competition in the Chinese folk song category and the gold medal in the youth group of the 12th Liszt Cup Hong Kong International Piano Competition in Guizhou. Furthermore, she earned the vocal gold medal in the 17th World Chinese Youth Art Festival, solidifying her position as a leading figure in Chinese ethnic vocal music.
In addition to her competition accolades, Tan Wen is a seasoned performer. She has been featured in numerous high-profile events, including the Liupanshui Spring Festival Gala, the New Year Cultural Gala, and municipal tourism promotion events. Representing Guizhou University, she performed at the 6th ASEAN+3 University Alliance Youth Cultural Forum in the Philippines, showcasing the charm of Chinese music culture. In 2023, she successfully held a solo recital, receiving widespread acclaim from industry experts and audiences alike.
